Job Summary

The Database Administrator (Engineer, Database Administration) is a key technical role within the IT Infrastructure team. This position is primarily responsible for hands-on database management, including building, configuring, and supporting databases, while also contributing to design, architecture, and planning initiatives. The role will support ConnectiveRx’s strategic initiatives by partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, scalable, efficient, and secure database solutions.

Contribute to the strategic roadmap for Database Administration to continuously enhance delivery, execution, and supportability of database solutions across ConnectiveRx systems.

Assist in solution design for new database and application initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational standards. Collaborate with application teams on performance optimization and standardized release processes.

Perform ongoing database administration, maintenance, upgrades, and optimization activities to ensure maximum performance, security, and reliability of ConnectiveRx applications.

Recommend and implement improvements in DBA processes and tools, enhancing monitoring, visibility, controls, and efficiency. Prepare documentation for all changes and enhancements.

10%
Collaborate across teams to understand evolving business requirements and communicate upcoming database changes. Participate in the production support on-call rotation.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge & Expertise

  • Strong understanding of database systems, reporting, data warehousing, integration services, analysis services, SQL performance tuning, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2016+
    • PostgreSQL
    • Amazon Redshift
  • Expertise in high-availability configurations such as Always On Availability Groups, and deep knowledge of performance tuning, capacity planning, storage requirements, and data encryption.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues across technical stacks including .NET, C#, MS SQL, SSIS, SSRS, AWS, MySQL, and scripting languages.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Database Administration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to provide support outside normal business hours, as required.

Compliance Requirements
